I saw a swarm of fruit flies, 2024

White chocolate, sterling silver, scaffolding

250 x 250 x 100 cm

Montes no visibles, curated by Nati Sosa Molina

TRA gallery, Miami

White chocolate replicas of religious architectural ornaments are arranged alongside resin molds on a scaffolding structure, evoking the aesthetics of a construction—or deconstruction—site. These fragments, cast in ephemeral matter, echo sacred forms while embracing collapse. Sterling silver flies settle on the surfaces: tiny but permanent intrusions that remind us of the way fruit flies are drawn to rotten meat, overripe fruit and overall decay. The installation recalls the vanitas tradition, where rot and opulence coexist as reminders of impermanence.
