I’m a Sucker for Revenge, 2025

White chocolate, wax, refrigerated vitrine, wrought iron gate 140 x 150 x 130 cm

Simulacros en Tres Tiempos, curated by Marek Wolfryd Galería tiro al blanco, Guadalajara

I’m a Sucker for Revenge presents the fragmented remains of a satyr—head, arm, and leg—cast in marbled white chocolate and wax displayed inside a commercial refrigerated vitrine. The work stages a dismembered fantasy figure of mythic lust and violence, with a spiked ornamental gate crowning the case, evoking devices of containment and punishment. A grotesquely comical yet repulsive visage, the satyr echoes the glorification of a predatory power that has been historically sanitized. Now frozen, severed from its body and stripped of power, the satyr’s fragments are placed in a cold, clinical space of preservation and consumption, parodying museological displays and culinary desire, while suggesting a slow, decadent revenge.
